As a working mother, I have always taken comfort in the fact that I can provide for my children. I am usually the one donating my time and money to organizations that help others. So it was very hard for me to admit that I needed help when things got rough. At a point in my life where we were struggling to even feed our kids or keep gas in the car, it broke my heart when my son came to me telling me his shoes hurt – they were too small and falling apart. They were the only ones he had. What do I do? I desperately needed to get my son new sneakers. I needed help. Thank you Laces

NAPLES DAILY NEWS – MARCH 10, 2017
Upon entering Jeanne Nealon’s North Naples home, guests may think they’ve entered a shoe warehouse. Designer sneakers like Nike and Sperry form a rainbow-colored mountain on her dining room table, and they inhabit tight closet spaces.
“Come here for a second,” Nealon, 58, said enthusiastically as she walked down the hall and out the door.
More shoes were organized in large bins inside the garage.
But the shoes aren’t for sale.
They are gifts to children in need from Collier and Lee counties.
The former Lee County teacher saw a need to provide children new shoes after taking home one … Read the rest

Yesterday we received the most heartwarming thank you videos from two little girls that recently received new shoes from Laces of Love. As sweet as they were, it was somewhat heartbreaking to see the condition of their previous shoes. I can’t help but wonder how long they would have had to wear them had it not been for the generosity of your support.
Imagine my delight when I checked the mail today and found this cute thank you note from a little girl who needed shoes. Shoes were recently donated to her school – and just in time. She was crying on her way to the school nurse’s office because her sandals fell apart. She is now skipping down the hall in her new sneakers from Laces of Love with a big smile on her face.… Read the rest
